Welcome to Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge, where we are committed to making you stay as seamless and enjoyable as possible. From the moment you arrive, our goal is to ensure your visit is filled with relaxation, adventure, and memorable experiences. Please proceed to check-in or out at Squirrely Putt & Play.

Our check-in process is designed to be smooth and efficient, allowing you to begin your getaway stress-free. When it's time to depart, we strive to make your check-out just as effortless, so you leave feeling refreshed and satisfied.

Cancellation Policy

We get it- sometimes life happens. While we are a small business, we do our best to be flexible and fair with changes.

14+ Days Before Arrival: If you cancel 14 or more days before your scheduled check-in, we’ll refund your deposit minus a $75 cancellation fee per tipi cabin.

Less than 14 Days Before Arrival: If you cancel within 14 days of your check-in date, the full cost of your stay is non-refundable. However, if we’re able to rebook your tipi cabin, we’ll refund the recovered amount, minus the $75 fee.

Rescheduling Your Stay: Want to move your stay to another date? If you notify us at least 14 days in advance, we’re happy to help you reschedule your booking once at no charge, based on availability. Reschedule requests made within 14 days of arrival will be treated as cancellations unless we’re able to rebook your original dates.

Shortened Stays: Changes to your arrival or departure dates that result in a shorter stay are considered partial cancellations and may be subject to the same policies and fees above.

No Refunds: We cannot offer refunds for late arrivals, early departures, or no-shows.

What should you bring for your trip?

Planning a weekend escape to Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge? Here’s a handy packing guide to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in our cabins with outdoor kitchens.

Essentials:

Clothing: Pack weather-appropriate clothing, including layers for fluctuating temperatures. Don't forget comfortable hiking shoes, swimwear, and a hat for sun protection.
Personal Items: Bring toiletries, a first aid kit, medications, sunscreen, insect repellent, and hand sanitizer.
Bedding: Provided
Towels: Provided but please bring your own beach towels for swimming and the beach
Flashlights and Lanterns: While the cabins have lighting, extra portable lights can be handy for evening outdoor activities.

Cooking Supplies:

Food and Beverages: Plan your meals and bring all necessary ingredients. Don’t forget snacks and drinks, including water.
Cooking Utensils: Our outdoor kitchens are fully equipped
Fridge : Full fridge with freezer
Plates and Utensils: provided
Cleaning Supplies: dishsoap and soap provided

Activities:

Outdoor Gear: Your stay at Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge includes use of canoes, kayaks and SUP. Bring your fishing gear, bikes, or any other equipment you would like for outdoor activities
Books and Games: Provided but if you have a favorite book or board game please bring it along
Camera: Capture the beautiful moments and scenic views during your stay.

Miscellaneous:

Portable Charger: Keep your devices charged for emergencies and capturing memories.
Binoculars: Perfect for bird watching and enjoying the natural surroundings.
Map and Guidebook: Familiarize yourself with the area and plan your activities.

Are Pets Allowed?

Yes! Pets are allowed in our pet-friendly tipi-cabins for no additional charge. We do ask that you call ahead to let us know you will have a pet with you and to let us know who you are bringing. Pets are welcome to stay in the pet friendly tipi-cabins and the owners must follow our rules.

Please only one pet per Tipi-Cabin.
Pets must be leashed at all times when outside of the tipi-cabins. This includes when near or at the outdoor kitchenettes or campfires.
Pets cannot be left unattended in the tipi-cabins at any time.
You must supply your own bedding- including blankets, pillows, sheets as so we can ensure that there is no cross contamination allergens for other guests.

How Do You Find The Resort?

When approaching from the main gates, please follow the down into the park. Take your first left after the lookout view. Follow this road until you see Squirrelly Putt & Play. You may park here and check -in before continuing. Afterwards, keep following the road past the boat launch. You will see a trailhead towards Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge. Park at the start of this trailhead.

Please DO NOT drive onto the trailhead as this will damage the wildlife and native vegetation. If you need assistance going the rest of the walkable distance, let us know and we will provide transport in a low impact vehicle for you and your luggage.
