Packing for Your Weekend Cabin Getaway at Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge

Planning a weekend escape to Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge? Here’s a handy packing guide to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in our cabins with outdoor kitchens.

Essentials:

  • Clothing: Pack weather-appropriate clothing, including layers for fluctuating temperatures. Don't forget comfortable hiking shoes, swimwear, and a hat for sun protection.
  • Personal Items: Bring toiletries, a first aid kit, medications, sunscreen, insect repellent, and hand sanitizer.
  • Bedding: Provided
  • Towels: Provided but please bring your own beach towels for swimming and the beach
  • Flashlights and Lanterns: While the cabins have lighting, extra portable lights can be handy for evening outdoor activities.

Cooking Supplies:

  • Food and Beverages: Plan your meals and bring all necessary ingredients. Don’t forget snacks and drinks, including water.
  • Cooking Utensils: Our outdoor kitchens are fully equipped
  • Fridge :  Full fridge with freezer
  • Plates and Utensils: provided
  • Cleaning Supplies:  dishsoap and soap provided

Activities:

  • Outdoor Gear: Your stay at Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge includes use of canoes, kayaks and SUP.  Bring your fishing gear, bikes, or any other equipment you would like for outdoor activities
  • Books and Games: Provided but if you have a favorite book or board game please bring it along
  • Camera: Capture the beautiful moments and scenic views during your stay.

Miscellaneous:

  • Portable Charger: Keep your devices charged for emergencies and capturing memories.
  • Binoculars: Perfect for bird watching and enjoying the natural surroundings.
  • Map and Guidebook: Familiarize yourself with the area and plan your activities.

🗓️ Cancellation & Rebooking Policy – Buffalo Pound Eco Lodge

We get it—life happens. While we’re a small, seasonal lodge and rely on advance bookings, we do our best to be fair and flexible with changes.

✅ Cancellations Made 14+ Days Before Arrival

If you cancel 14 or more days before your scheduled check-in, we’ll refund your deposit minus a $75 cancellation fee per tipi cabin.

❌ Cancellations Made Less Than 14 Days Before Arrival

If you cancel within 14 days of your check-in date, the full cost of your stay is non-refundable.
However, if we’re able to rebook your tipi cabin, we’ll refund the recovered amount, minus the $75 fee.

🔁 Need to Reschedule Instead?

Want to move your stay to another date? If you notify us at least 14 days in advance, we’re happy to help you reschedule your booking once at no charge, based on availability.

Reschedule requests made within 14 days of arrival will be treated as cancellations unless we’re able to rebook your original dates.

📅 Date Changes or Shortened Stays

Changes to your arrival or departure dates that result in a shorter stay are considered partial cancellations and may be subject to the same policies and fees above.
